
Anthony David Gonzalez (born February 27th 1977) is an ex- American football tight end who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 17 seasons. Gonzalez is considered one of the most important tight ends in the world. Gonzalez holds the record of the NFL for receiving yards and receptions as a tight end. He also ranks third in total receptions. Gonzalez's first 12 years were in the Kansas City Chiefs. In 1997, he was drafted in the first round. In the five seasons that followed, he was with the Atlanta Falcons. Since retiring in 2013 Gonzalez has worked as an NFL analyst for NFL on Prime Video and previously worked at CBS Sports and Fox Sports.Gonzalez ended his career with 14 Pro Bowl selections, the highest number for a tight end and second-most in league history and also received six first-team All-Pros. Gonzalez was well-known for his strength and the ability to not lose a ball. He was a part of 272 of 270 regular-season games and had only two fumbles and a total of 1,327 plays. He was inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in the year 2019.
